As higher education and K-12 institutions work to improve digital accessibility across their Canvas environments, one challenge continues to surface: gaining consistent visibility into the accessibility status of video content hosted across different media platforms.
To help address that challenge, Cidi Labs launched a new integration between its UDOIT Advantage Canvas course accessibility tool and Panopto.
The integration allows institutions using both Panopto and UDOIT Advantage to better monitor caption-related accessibility information directly within UDOIT remediation workflows. This creates a more complete view of accessibility across Canvas course content and media.
UDOIT already helps identify accessibility issues across Canvas course content, including Rich Content Editor pages, assignments, files, and supported media. An existing integration with YouTube and Kaltura lets users monitor video accessibility factors such as caption availability, auto-generated captions, and caption language information.
Now, institutions using Panopto can bring similar visibility into their accessibility review and remediation processes.
With the new integration, UDOIT can identify:
This expanded reporting capability helps accessibility teams, instructional designers, and Canvas LMS administrators better understand the accessibility status of embedded video content while in the familiar UDOIT remediation workflow and without relying on time-consuming manual review processes.

The new integration also reflects Cidi Labs broader philosophy around accessibility: helping institutions move beyond fragmented or inefficient remediation efforts toward more scalable, sustainable accessibility practices.
As institutions manage growing volumes of Canvas course content across multiple tools and media platforms, centralized visibility becomes increasingly important. By expanding interoperability between UDOIT and widely used educational technologies like Panopto, Cidi Labs aims to help institutions reduce accessibility blind spots and improve oversight across their digital learning environments.
Rather than treating accessibility as a disconnected or manual process, Cidi Labs continues investing in workflows that help institutions gain clearer visibility into accessibility issues across large volumes of course content and media. The goal is to make accessibility work more efficient, scalable, and integrated into the platforms educators use every day.
