The NEW DesignPLUS Sidebar is now available!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that the much-anticipated NEW DesignPLUS Sidebar is now generally available! We had the opportunity to demonstrate it to so many of you last week at InstructureCon, and it was great to see all the excitement about this even more powerful and user-friendly version of the design tools you know and love.

We know change can be hard and that moving to this new version will take time and planning. With that in mind, we’d like to reiterate and share the following important information:

There is no rush to install the new Sidebar.
We will continue to support the Legacy version of the DesignPLUS Sidebar through December 2024, so you can take your time and make the transition when you are ready and the time is right for your institution.

There are many ways to get to know the new Sidebar.
In order to support you in the process of learning about the new Sidebar and planning your transition, we are providing many opportunities and resources to help. Here are some ways to get started:

• Request a sandbox to test drive the new Sidebar
• View the Getting to Know the New DesignPLUS Sidebar webinar recording
• Access a host of transition aides and other helpful resources
• Check out the new DesignPLUS User Guide and Admin Guide

You can now install the new Sidebar.
When your institution is ready to install the new Sidebar, you can either do it yourself or request help from Cidi Labs. You can find the installation instructions here. In an effort to support a wide variety of approaches to rolling out the new Sidebar, we have made it possible to toggle between the legacy version and the new Sidebar, and provided features to control who can do that. For help deciding which approach is best for your institution, visit this page in our Admin Guide.

Training is now available.
Once you’ve installed the new Sidebar, you can sign up for live training. Also, a series of training videos will be made available to everyone, regardless of installation status, by mid-August. Additionally, reviewing our new DesignPLUS Sidebar User Guide and Admin Guide is a great way to deepen your knowledge.
