Instructional designers, course authors, teachers and administrators, are invited to attend the CanvasLive webinar event “Tools for the Instructional Designer: Leveraging Design Tools for Effective Teaching and Training at Florida State University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University” on April 4.

The hour-long webinar will feature case studies presented by Design Tools customers, a Q&A, and a short demonstration to acquaint attendees with Design Tools for Canvas. Customers will learn from other users new use cases for Design Tools while others will gain a better understanding of how they can maximize time with easy to design templates in Design Tools.

“Our thesis has always been that the importance of the instructional designer keeps growing and as the profession grows so too does the need for software to help them do their jobs better,” said Mike Zackrison, Cidi Labs CEO and co-founder.webinar image

John L. Crow from Florida State University will demonstrate how he used the Tools to transition from Blackboard to Canvas, how he was able to leverage the Tools and Canvas Commons to distribute content and create structure–while supporting faculty freedom at a large public institution.

Crow is a faculty member at Florida State University’s Office of Distance Learning and holds a PhD from Florida State in American religious history and teaches courses online for Utah State University.

Emily Ackerman at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has used Design Tools for one year. Emily will demonstrate how Design Tools have improved training and instruction at Embry-Riddle in both online and face-to-face classrooms.

Ackerman is an Academic Trainer in the Academic Technology Department at Embry-Riddle Worldwide University. She’s formerly an eLearning Specialist for Embry-Riddle and a high school English teacher.

The April 4 webinar will begin at 10 am. Registration is now open. The webinar will be hosted in Zoom. Registrants will receive a link to access upon registration and are encouraged to test the installation of Zoom prior to the live event.
